Merhaba.

Is really hayal kırıklığına uğratmak the only possible option to mean "to disappoint" or "let somebody down"? All the dictionaries I looked into put this in the first place.. but this one sounds so idiomatic and even poetically.. Isn´t there any simple one-word verb for this?

I just can´t imagine using "breaking someone´s dreams" in a common everyday situation, for example when someone asks me to show his friends around the city because she knows I am a good guide, and I say "I hope I won´t cause your dreams to be broken"... Is is really how you use this?
