How would it be changed to say, adem is my son. I may be a little stuck on this concept.

Thanks. Those makes sense. I´m just a little stuck with "to be" for it/he/she. Hard to learn sometimes because there is no ending.

For example Adem is good. --> Adem iyi. (correct?)

So I thought Adem oğlum. --> Adem is my son.

Just trying to understand where I went wrong?

Adem oğlum. Ama, o kardeşleri veya kız kardeşleri yok.

Adem oğlum. Ama onun abisi veya kız kardeşi yok.

/...onun kardeşi yok.

Adem is my son! But he doesn´t have any brother or sister.

You have ignored the genitive case while you were making this sentence.

kardeş : sibling (brother or sister)

___

erkek kardeş : brother (older or younger)

kız kardeş : sister (older or younger)

ağabey (spoken lang.: aabi) : older brother

abla : older sister

By the way, sincere boys can sometimes call each other "oğlum (my son)". This belongs to vernacular, informal language. What´s more, this usage doesn´t exist in some regions.

Adem, oğlum! (Adem, my friend!)
