I found a very a easy, beginner suitable short turkish story/text online But ofcourse (as usual) I have a couple of questions. I hope this story benifits other beginners as well!

Hayvanat bahçesinde

-ağabey, neredeyiz?

-hayvanat bahçesindeyiz. O çok ilginç ve güzel bir yerdir. Dünyanın en ilginç hayvanları buradadadırlar. Özellikle çok güzel küşlar var.

-Gerçekten, o kuş çok güzeldir.

-Hangi kuş?

-Oradaki kuş çok renklidir. O kuşun ismi nedir?

-Bu tavustar. Burada papağantar ve kanaryalar da var.

-Ya şu kuş nasıl birdir?

-Şu kuş kartaldır

-kartal nerede vardır?

-Kartallar dağlarda ve göklerdedir.

-O neden böyle hazindir?

-çunku burada kapalıdır, fakat gökte serbesttir.

-Ya bu çok büyük kedi nedir?

-Bu kedi kaplandır.

-Nerede başka kaplanlar var?

-Diğer kaplanlar sıcak ve büyük ormanlardadır.

-Bu kedi çok güzeldir, değil mi?

-Evet, gaye güzeldir.

-Fakat hazindir, neden?

-brother, where are we?

-we are in the zoo, a very interesting and beautiful place. The worlds most interesting animals are here. There are some especially beautiful birds.

-really, it is a very beautiful bird.

-which bird?

-(I dont understand the suffix or the meaning it gives) there, the very colorful bird. What is its name? ( again, I dont understand the suffix)

-And what is this bird?

-This bird is an eagle.

-Where is eagle? (Where are they found?)

-Eagles are in mountains and in skies.

-Why is it sad like so?

-Because here it is closed, but skies (?)

-And that very big cat is what?

-That cat is a tiger.

-Where are other tigers?

-Other tigers are in hot and big forests.

-That cat is very beautiful, right?

-Yes, very beautiful.

-But it is sad. From what?

-Because they are in a cage and not free outside (?), we are not closed (trapped?) so we are happy. Buth they are trapped so they are not happy. They are wild animals. They are in the skies, mountains, forests and water. Some animals are innocent others are wild. In us also, meaning in people too some are good, some are bad. These animals are beautiful, but bad people......(?)........ They for us are in books, in television. Only person without mind (?)........

I think this is: That colorful bird over there.

´ki´ is like that, here is a link:

http://www.turkishclass.com/forumTitle_22623_-1

What is that bird´s name? ´un´ is just for possessive

-çunku burada kapalıdır, fakat gökte serbesttir.

Because here he is enclosed, but in the sky he is free.

I was not too sure about the last paragraph. Hopefully someone has a better idea.

-Bu oda da fena değildir.

This room is also not bad

-Evet, tabii bir gönüştedir, çünkü pencereler büyüktur ve dışarda her şey açıktır.

Yes, this appearance is normal, beacuse the windows are big and outside everything is open

-Büyük avludaki ağaçlar uzaktadırlar.

There is a big yard in which trees that are far away are in (????)

-odadaki lambalar güzeldir.

The room which has lamps is nice.

-Şekil olarak öndeki duvar ve pencereler de ilginçtir.

As is the shape infront of the walls and windows is also interesting (???)

Orası çok ilginç ve güzel bir yerdir.

We would say "there [that place] , instead of  " O" [it].

Orası --> that place

I know in English you would say "it" but in way of thinking we would prefer to say "Orası" , in other words it is more natural to say "Orası" in that concept.

Since , In Turkish way of thinking  the pronoun "O" refers  a person more than a place.

Dünyanın en ilginç hayvanları buradadadırlar.

"Extra -da should be removed. Plus,it sounds better not to use the plural "lar" since it is already plurized in "hayvanları, however it is still not wrong if you use "lar".

-Bu oda da fena değildir.

This room is also not bad

* A Turk wouldn´t use -dir in that concept, since it is just a statement/view of a person about a certain room that he/she viewed.

-Evet, görünüşü normal [or, normal görünüyor ], çünkü pencereler büyüktur ve dışarda her şey açıktır.

Yes, this appearance is normal, beacuse the windows are big and outside everything is open

* Again, the -dir suffix doesn´t suit in the sentence above.

-kartal nerededir  [ nerede yaşar ? ] vardır?

where do they have eagles

*  "vardır" sounds slightly weird there. So , I replaced it with -dir or -yaşar.

-O neden böyle hüzünlü  duruyor ?

Why does it look sad like this ?

-çunku burada kapalıdır, fakat gökte özgürdür.

Because it is closed here [ it[the animal] lives in a closed place here ] but it is free in the sky.

-Çünkü o da kafeste ve dışarda özgür değildir.

* No need to say "dışarda" since being özgür [being free] already tells us that it should be outside [out of kafes].

Onlar yabani l hayvanlardır. Onlar Gökte, doğada, ormanda ve suda yaşarlar

1. No need to make it plural , since it is already plurized by Onlar.

2. No need to repeat the pronoun " Onlar" , since it is already mentioned in the previous sentence , so it may not sound good repeating it.

3. We would prefer to say " They live  in......."  instead of  " They exist in...... "
