Merhabalar! I know you are probably tired of Fikret Kızılok by now, but I can´t help myself. So, here is another of his songs: "Haberin Var Mı?" There are two versions of this song. One has words that were perhaps written by Fikret. The other has words by the poet Ahmed Arif (yes, I have discovered another of Turkey´s famous poets!) and carries the alternate title "Kör Pencere." This version ends with a very swinging 1970s instrumental that seems to be called "Ay Battı." I´ve tried to translate both sets of lyrics. Please correct my mistakes.

Unfortunately, the only recording I can find of both versions together is on YouTube. But I will also include a link for an Izlesene video for "Haberin Var Mı" alone.

Haberin Var Mı? -- Do You Have News?

Haberin var mı? -- Do you have news?
Terk etmedi sevdan beni -- Your passion has not left me.
Aç kaldım, susuz kaldım gecelerce -- Night after night, I have remained hungry, I have remained thirsty.

Geceler geceler -- For nights and nights.

Yastığımda, düşümde, içimdesin -- On my pillow, in my dreams, you are within me.
Bir hain bıçak gibi kalbimdesin -- Like a treacherous knife, you are in my heart.
Dermanı yoktur bilirim -- It has no cure, I know.

Tütünsüz, uykusuz kaldım -- I have remained without tobacco, without sleep.

------------------------

Kör Pencere -- Blind Window
Ay Battı -- The Moon Has Set

Haberin var mı? -- Do you have news?
Taş duvar, demir kapı, kör pencere, -- Stone wall, iron door, blind window.
Yastığım, ranzam, zincirim, -- My pillow, my bunk, my chains.
Uğruna ölümlere gidip geldiğim -- It is for its sake that I go and come from death.

Zulamdaki mahzun resim. -- In my hiding place, my sad drawings.
Görüşmecim yeşil soğan göndermiş -- My visitor seems to have sent green onions.
Karanfil kokuyor cigaram -- My cigarette smells of cloves.
Dağlarına bahar gelmiş memleketimin ... -- To the mountains of my country, spring apparently has come.
