Merhabalar! Because I´m not sure translating Turkish to English is helping me that much right now, I´ve decided to try things the other way around. Below is my translation of the English-language story "The Ant and the Grasshopper." I´m sure I have plenty wrong, so please help me. I want to learn. Teşekkürler!

"The Ant and the Grasshopper" -- "Karınca ve Çekirge"

In a field one summer´s day a Grasshopper was hopping about, chirping and singing to its heart´s content.

Bir yaz günü doya doya cıvıldayarak ve öterek bir çekirge alanda orada burada sekiyordu.

An Ant passed by, bearing along with great effort an ear of corn he was taking to the nest.

Yuvaya götürdügü bir mısır başağı büyük çabayla taşıyarak bir karınca ondan geçiyordu.

"Why not come and chat with me," said the Grasshopper, "instead of toiling and moiling away?"

Çekirge, "Çalışıp didineceğine gelip ve benimle sohbet etsene," dedi.

"I am helping to lay up food for the winter," said the Ant, "and recommend you to do the same."

Karınca, "Kış için yemek biriktirmeye yardım ediyorum ve aynı yaptığını tavsiye ediyorum," dedi.

"Why bother about winter?" said the Grasshopper; "we have got plenty of food at present."

Çekirge, "Neden kışı merak edelim? Bugünlerde bizim bol miktarda yemeğimiz var," dedi.

But the Ant went on its way and continued its toil.

Ama karınca yoluna gitti ve çalışmasına devam etti.

When the winter came the Grasshopper found itself dying of hunger, while it saw the ants distributing, every day, corn and grain from the stores they had collected in the summer.

Kış gelince, çekirge açlıktan dolayı kendisinin öldüğünü gördü. Aynı anda o karıncaların yazın biriktirdikleri erzaklartan mısır ve tahıl her gün dağıttıkları gördü.

Then the Grasshopper knew ...

O zaman çekirge anladı ...

WORK TODAY AND YOU CAN REAP THE BENEFITS TOMORROW!

Bugün çalış ve yarın yarardan hoşlanacaksın.
