Merhaba

Can these two verbs be used to have the same meaning?

For example if i want to say...I am watching tv....or I am watching a football match(meaning you are at a football match)

If you are watching a series (sports or other) I would use seyretmek. If you are just watching tv, or a game I would use izlemek. I think izlemek is more common.

they both have similar meaning.

seyretmek = to watch

izlemek = to follow

tv seyrediyorum / izliyorum

futbol maçı seyrediyorum / izliyorum

you can use them both, but i think izlemek is used much more cause i almost never heard people use seyretmek.
