Hi all,
I wanted some advice on how to get from this second airport in Istanbul to the European centre of Istanbul. I have looked up on the map and enquired and it is about 28 miles to the European centre of Istanbul. I would be visiting Beylikdüzü district of Istanbul. I would like to know if anyone can advise me on how I would get to this part of Istanbul from Sabiha Gokcen international airport.
Tesekkur ederim

There is a website http://www.sgairport.com/havaalani/eng/seyahat.asp

which looks quite good. So this is where Easy Jet are flying into then??

Hi Libralady,
Yes they start their services in August properley but you can book now also on the website http://www.travelbite.co.uk/news/flights/cheap-flight/easyjet-start-flights-istanbul-$444420.htm

If you live in the U.K. I would not hesitate to use this new flight service if like me you have a loved one in Istanbul and need to visit quite alot then from now on I will not scour the net looking for cheap flights at as low as £60.98 English pounds return this is a real find and one I am sure English members must take advantage of. The only drawback for me is the times you have to get to your destination airport Luton (London) in this case most flights are usually at 6.30 a.m. and Easyjet's reputation for being notoriously late on flights is a minor problem take the chance at that price!

If you want to get to the city center from Sabiha Gökçen, it might take you a little while. This morning the guys from the hostel where we stayed took us to the hostel, and without any traffic it took us almost 30 minutes (from sultanahmet that is..). If you take a taksi it will cost you around 50 euro's (100 YTL).

It's a bit annoying that Sabiha is so far away from the 'city center' but the airport itself is really clean and I think it's quite good actually!

Is there any connecting bus service with the internal flights from Ataturk airport as I need to fly down to Dalaman. Also do you you know if Easyjet are operating throughout the winter as flights are only coming up to 28 October on their website?

Hi all,
After looking into this option I was forced to stay with Expedia and Turkish airlines there are just too many disadvantages to this special price offer which I will conclude. The very first thing is the scheduled flights are at 7.a.m. in the morning from Luton that is almost all the flight times you have, this means travelling the night before to have any chance of making this flight, if you live the other side of the country then this is just not possible. The price is good but also the airport at http://www.sgairport.com/havaalani/eng/start.asp does not make it easy to get to where you want to go. My girlfriend told me it is at least a three hour trip to her from this airport so more and more I am going off the idea. It makes no sense to me to travel to the second airport if you like after Ataturk, when what I have read is that Sabiha Gökçen Airport is not very busy. I know we all like to get cheap fares but this one maybe should be missed when you look at all the disadvantages?

Thing is you really have to weigh it all up. These cheap flights might seem very attractive but when you find the airports are miles from anywhere and your flight leaves the UK at 07:00. meaning either an overnight stay or getting up at the crack of dawn, adding further to the "cheap cost", then when it all comes down to it, go with what you know!

I'm usually flying with Corendon. But I'm not sure if they depart from the UK. For 10 euros we can get a transport to the aya sofia, which is actually quite good . But it is true that the times are usually a bit.. unfriendly.. I would arrive at 01.30 in the night... Kind of a stupid time to be in the outskirts of Istanbul..
