B襤R Ç襤N ÖYKÜSÜ…

ÇATLAKLARIMIZ, KUSURLARIMIZ VE Ç襤ÇEKLER襤M襤Z

Çin´de bir adam, her gün boynuna dayad覺覺 kal覺n sopan覺n iki ucuna ast覺覺 testilerle dereden evine su ta覺rm覺...

Bu testilerden birinin yan k覺sm覺nda çatlak varm覺...

Adam her iki testiyi suyla doldururmu ama evine vard覺覺nda sadece 1 testi su kal覺rm覺...

Tabii ki kusursuz, çatlaks覺z testi GÖREV襤N襤 mükemmel yapt覺覺 için çok gururlan覺yormu.

Yolun senin taraf覺nda olan k覺sm覺 çiçeklerle dolu. Fakat kusursuz testinin taraf覺nda hiç yok. Çünkü ben ba覺ndan beri senin kusurunu, çatlakl覺覺n覺 biliyordum… Senin taraf覺na çiçek tohumlar覺 ektim… Ve her gün o yolda ben su ta覺rken, sen onlar覺 sulad覺n…

襤ki y覺ld覺r o güzel çiçekleri toplay覺p, evimi süslüyorum. Sen kusursuz olsayd覺n, o çatla覺n olmasayd覺 evime böyle güzellik ve zarafet veremeyecektim´ diye cevap vermi.

Asl覺nda hepimiz birer çatlak testiyiz. Her birimizin kendine özgü kusurlar覺 vard覺r.

Fakat sahip olduumuz bu kusurlar ve çatlaklard覺r hayatlar覺m覺z覺 ilginç yapan, mükâfatland覺ran, renklendiren…

Etraf覺m覺zdaki her kiiyi, olduklar覺 gibi kabullenin…

Onlardaki kusurlar覺 deil, içlerindeki güzellikleri görün...

襤nsanlar覺;  eer kusurlar覺 ve yanl覺lar覺, yani insan kimlikleri ile sevmeyi bilmiyorsak, onlar覺 hiç sevmiyoruz demektir.

Sizin çatlak testileriniz de güzel çiçekler açt覺rs覺n….

My attempt for the first part

B襤R Ç襤N ÖYKÜSÜ…

A Chinese Story

ÇATLAKLARIMIZ, KUSURLARIMIZ VE Ç襤ÇEKLER襤M襤Z

Our cracks, our flaws and our flowers

Çin´de bir adam, her gün boynuna dayad覺覺 kal覺n sopan覺n iki ucuna ast覺覺 testilerle dereden evine su ta覺rm覺...

In China, a man would carry water every day in 2 earthenware containers, that were hanging from a large piece of wood balanced across the back of his neck, from a creek to his house.

Bu testilerden birinin yan k覺sm覺nda çatlak varm覺...

There was a crack in the side part of one of these containers ....

Adam her iki testiyi suyla doldururmu ama evine vard覺覺nda sadece 1 testi su kal覺rm覺...

But for every 2 containers that he filled with water, when the man arrived home only 1 container worth of water remained.

Dier bir adam覺n testisi  ise kusursuz ve çatlaks覺zm覺 ve her seferinde bu kusursuz testi adam覺n doldurduu suyun tümünü ta覺r, ulat覺r覺rm覺 eve…

As for the other man´s container, it was flawless and without cracks, and on every journey this flawless container that the man would fill with water and carry, transported all of the water home ....

襤ki sene her gün bu ekilde geçmi.

For two years, every day passed in this way.

I came across this story and remembered Onder´s T-E request

An elderly Chinese man had two large pots, each hung on the ends of a pole which he carried across his neck.

One of the pots had a crack in it while the other pot was perfect and always delivered a full portion of water. At the end of the long walk from the stream to the house, the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the man bringing home only one and a half pots of water.

Of course, the perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments. But the poor cracked pot was ashamed of its own imperfection, and miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do. After 2 years of what it perceived to be bitter failure, it spoke to the man one day by the stream. "I am ashamed of myself, because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to your house."

The old man smiled, "Did you notice that there are flowers on your side of the path, but not on the other pot´s side?" "That´s because I have always known about your flaw, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path, and every day while we walk back, you water them." "For two years I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate the table. Without you being just the way you are, there would not be this beauty to grace the house."

Each of us has our own unique flaw. But it´s the cracks and flaws we each have that make our lives together so very interesting and rewarding. You´ve just got to take each person for what they are and look for the good in them.
