Are there jobs for Americans in Turkey that do not speak much Turkish? My boyfriend has asked me to move there and I am really not sure about leaving my secure job here.

Also not sure what papers or how to go about even being able to work in Turkey.

Thanks in advance for any help that can be given on this subject.

Oh, I forgot to mention some things I have done in the past. I owned my own pizza business for 12 years and I currently am a manager of transportation for a school for children with special needs.

Not sure if this would help find a job in Turkey, just some background information in case it is needed.

Easiest job to get here for an american is an english teacher. The private schools in istanbul are always looking for native speakers.

How about opening a Pizza Restaurant.

I guarantee you they don't know how a real Pizza tastes
A small delivery restaurant (forget about dine-in), powered with the best Pizza, calzone, hot and cold subs, and of course some buffalo wings may work beyond imagination.

Thanks Homesick. Do you know if it would be possible for a non-Turkish citizen to open a business? I have often thought about going back into the pizza business. I really do miss it, but with my current job I have health benefits, very good ones at that. But this is definitely something to think about. BTW, have you booked your trip back home to Turkey yet?

My parents were here. I took a two week vacation and took them with me and show them New York, Boston, Washington DC, and Atlantic City! (I even made some bucks at Caesars ). Unfortunately my wife wasn't with us because of work related issues, but I am planning to be in Turkey in a month or so

I am not sure if a non-Turkish citizen can open a business in Turkey but I guess in any case, if your business partner is Turkish, you probably can do it legally.

BTW, although I am working as a software architect in an IT company, I have two Restaurants in United States My business partners are American citizens, and I experienced no problems while becoming partners to these restaurants. Most of the problems I encountered happened when I was in the kitchen. I make cooks angry with my cooking and I don't know why! hehe
