My PC! I have now been exactly 6.5 weeks without my pc (which is less than a year old). Luckily (having had previous experience of DELL) I went and bought a cheap laptop to tide me over, but it is DRIVING ME INSANE! It was delivered back to me 3 weeks ago - damaged, and had to be sent straight back again. Have spent approximately 4 hours on the phone to DELL since this started and have had 15 promises of returned calls and NEVER ONCE have they called me back!

Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

(ahhhhhhhh I feel so much better now)

People who phone "for a chat" every night! LEAVE ME ALONE! I've been at work all day and just got home and I DONT WANT TO SPEND ALL NIGHT listening to cute stories about your children, the infinite details about your visit to the dentist or the fact that coffee is 2 for 1 in Sainsbury's this week... EMAIL ME IF YOU MUST, BUT DON'T CALL ME !

Well...SOME people can call for a chat, but THAT's different !

Ooo I love this thread!

Bugging me - more concerning me......

I went out last night with one of my favourite sweatshirts on - I didn't take it off in the first bar but did in the second as it was warm and I had my new very cute top on! But now I can't find my sweatshirt so I am hoping I didn't leave it in the bar :-S

I can't believe I did simply because I would have been cold outside, coming home with out it - but then the alcohol may well hve caused me not to notice the cold

Hope I haven't lost it

The Laptop "Mouse". What the hell is it good for? I am innocently moving my way around a site and "CLICK" somehow (without hitting the click button) I have gone into something else that I DIDN'T WANT TO!

Offfffffffff ya!
(hehehe lol! - I can sleep now. Goodnight!)

Bugging me - my dış ağrısı

Half of one of my molars is missing and I keep getting food stuck in it which blocks it up so it can't drain - then it aches.......not normally a problem because after eating I just clear it out with a toothpick!

But it gets badly stuck at the worst possible times - like when I am driving and have a bite to eat......or when I am out and there are no toothpicks.

Still - I get around this problem by carrying a large stock of painkillers

Dunno - you haven't said what make of laptop it is!!!
But start by going into the Control Panel and selecting the mouse settings - you should be able to disable clicking in there........

Aldi were doing a nice USB set for £15 recently - it came all packed up in a zip up case with a small mouse, 4 port USB hub, numeric keypad, USB keyboard light and several useful cables.......very good value I thought

Bugging is not good enough anyway, but I'm extremely pissed off and sad that my nana has been robbed in her own house for the second time this year!!

The first robbery seriously damaged her health because of the blood pressure and her heart. I don't even dare to let me thoughts go to what this second robbery might cause

Two things actually,

1) msn keeps dropping me out and I get this stupid send the details thing - what the hell do they do about it anyway?

2) had an almightly row with someone from Expedia.com about a booking they cocked up and want to charge me for changing

and there is a third,

I got lost today and I NEVER admit to getting lost

It's bugging me that I have to reply several PMs but I can't find the words to type, i'm just too tired to be serious or really think of something! (apologies to those who are waiting. im so sorry. i'll do it after the weekend )

It's also bugging me that lately i'm so tired that it's like i don't really wake up all day long! Even if i sleep early, i just won't hear my alarm and then wake up all sleepy! Yesterday I went for a run, and today i do feel less tired and more energetic, but i got sore muscles in return

Now I'm gonna stop complaining, otherwise i'll only make it worse for myself!

4 WHEEL DRIVES AND PEOPLE CARRIERS! What are they all about eh? I drive a little low to the road sporty car and I start to feel claustrophobic when they are surrounding me on all sides! And...why are they always driven by sexist road hog men, or women dropping their kids to school in the mornings?

AND....()...the roads have been wonderful during the school holidays but now everyone is back to school the roads are clogged every morning again with these "tanks" - usually with just one small child sitting in each one! And...much as I hate to moan about my own sex, women drivers are hesitant, slow to respond and DRIVE ME INSANE!

(Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh I feel better again I love this thread)

Controversial stuff here "sexist road hog men" " hesitant slow to respond women" Not to mention the mobile glued to their ear. What about all those 4 by 4 drivers who have never been off the tarmac.

Well - I have driven 4x4's (always LandRover products) for over a decade on and off. And they have all been off tarmac on a regular basis. Plus we have a caravan so the Discovery is regularly on towing duty.

It is amazing how thankful people become of a 4x4 when they try and drive their car onto a campsite and it gets bogged down - rescued only by a 4x4 and a good stout tow rope!!!

Plus of course - come the time for the campfire - a strong rope attached to the bumper and slung around a dead tree soon provides a source of heat for the next few hours.......and entertainment for the kids as they chop the dead tree into burnable sized logs

You are right, they use efendim. It's more polite. They use to say alo when they can't hear well. But no matter what they say when they answer the phone, I answer with a long, meaningful "aloooooooooooo"

Gee.. what a pack of grumpies we are
Look at all the complaints here people.. Surely there are worse things in the world to worry about.. There are children in Africa dying from starvation because their parents cant afford food for them.. Most probably dont have jobs.. And then we are here complaining about the time we have to come home from work

I too was going to give a long lecture about how much my parents have annoyed me today but then I thought.. Hey some kids are orphans.. they dont even have parents to complain about...
How ungrateful would it be for me to sit here and complain..??

Bad things do happen.. but there is some good in every one..

Look at the little saga we had about the laptop mouse.. annoying? yes.. but in the end we learnt how to change the settings eh?

Now brighten up people...Benim moralimi bile bozdunuz valla
Hadi bir gülün bakayım AH THATS BETTER

I was looking forward all evening to talk to Kadir after watching telly and I made him really clear what time i'll be on and then EXACTLY at that time, I get a text saying that he will sleep early!! If I text back that I expected him to be online because he knows i'm sstarting to freak out about moving to Turkey and could need him around to calm me down a little ánd that he could've said earlier that he wasnt gonna come, as i mentioned it twice that i really wanted him online, he just says he never said he was gonna be online

Seriously, we've had a relationship online for 2.5 years and he still doesnt know how to reply my e-mail and just say that he needs his sleep tonight!! Aaargh!!!

My revenge is sweet!! I'll buy a double bed and then tell him I need MY sleep!!! Hehe!

We are having a RIF(reduction in force), here at work. I have to let several good employee's go. It's never easy terminating someone's employment, but this will be more difficult since I have a personal friendship with one of them.

Did you know that there are about 1000-2000 spiders in an (average) house?
And that you swallow about 7 spiders while you are sleeping? (no, not 7 a night, it's 7 a lifetime if you're lucky )

STOP!
Well...mine is not the AVERAGE house in Autumn! It is a sealed unit and the only fresh air comes from my mesh covered windows! There is also a sign "Spiders not welcome" on every door . Please don't give me any MORE nightmares than I already have! ....especially the...sleeping one....aghhhhhhhhhhh!

Well I suppose my bad news is that I have just come out of an operation and feel a little rough and the day before that I had results from tests I had and I ended up being diagnosed with Kienbock's disease, which basically means I am in a cast for 4 weeks, a splint for 6 weeks and if it doesn't help surgery, AGAIN!!

But the operation i've had has an advantage as it requires me to have two weeks rest, which means I can carry on with writing my poetry

You poor thing, I can sympathise I had to have both feet reset and was in casts for two months a couple of years ago. I was lucky that my op was successful but I may have to have it again..... I was told that if I didn't have it I'd end up in a wheelchair.

The main thing is that you've just got to get on with it my friend. I've had arthritis since I was 14 years old, and believe me it's definately a mind over matter situation.

You'll be fine just find things to amuse yourself so you don't go mad. Easier said than done I know.......

I just looked forward to my holiday to Turkey where I met my hubby! I think this is why I am so tolerant of his culture and ways because he looks after me on my bad days!

My bad thing today was that I couldn't find any high heeled shoes that didn't rub against my scars on my feet.
These are the times when I feel sorry for myself I hate being different I can hide my arthritis normally gloves etc in the winter when my hands swell but sometimes I would just love to go out in 3 inch heels and not be a cripple the next day!!!!!!
Anyway please pm me if you feel low or bored Il always listen to any rants or rages due to frustration because I've been there!

Ah Susie K there is no reason to feel sorry for me, as I am also use to it. The hospital is my second home (according to my family and friends and even the doctors & nurses) lol
I have had nearly everything, from sever kidney infection to pnemonia, not including I am a chronic asthmatic! and I have lost count the amount of times I have nearly died. But I too try not to let it get me down as I know somewhere out there people are worse of than me who need help, so I always think of others and try to help
Also I have a motto of my own that seems very effective: "Pray, remember what you lived for and fight to keep it alive" (I have many alterations fot this motto)

I agree about the text talk. But English not being perfect here doesn't bother me too much. English is not my native language, I'm sure I make mistakes. There are a lot of people here in a similar situation, trying to learn Turkish through a language that is not their mother tongue. Making mistakes in those cases is understandable.
But I can't stand seeing people who master the Turkish language, writing in slang, in text talk, not using the Turkish alphabet, etc.. It makes it hard for the ones who want to learn, and since this is a TR language class, I can imagine there are a lot of those kind of people here

Which comment exactly was nasty Susie? Friendship has nothing to do with that. If someone is trying to correct a faulse situation by commenting on it, it doesn't mean s/he is your enemy.

As for "lowering"...the only thing that we lower here lately, is the standards and the quality of these webpages.

Grrr.. Well, I had booked to go to London for The Language Show today with some people from school, but last night I had an argument with my father and he stopped me going, I was really looking forward to going to London and gaining some useful information. So I'm sad about that.
Then, I go to switch on my laptop and it won't even boot up, just keeps switching off. So I'm worried that if I have to get another laptop I'll lose all my stuff

WHY?

OK ok it's a long story but I need HELP!!!....there is this guy called Jamie who I was going to run away to Turkey with because ours lives were shit (he is British) but he ened up leaving by himself and I found out from his friend and after three damn months he comes back (yesterday) and was like "I love you, I thought about you every day" which I was like awww....and so I agreed to meet up with him today at the train station...but because I came out of hospital yesterday (because I discharged myself) my mom wouldn't let me out so I couldn't go and see Jamie....then I realised no trains come on a Sunday so it made me think he was lying and I have this feeling that he has lied to me before about something too :-S but all the while I was thinking about meeting Jamie....I couldn't get one of my best mates out of my head...Duane....so what do I do?

P.S. Jamie just came online and went off straight away

Without trying to sound horrible but if Jamie liked you that much, he wouldn't have gone to Turkey without you.
I'd stick with Duane if I were you!
Just let him make the first move or wait untill xmas if you can and get him under the mistletoe!!!!!

lol @ Susie K.....girl you do make me laugh! mmm if i waited for him to make the first move I might be waiting a long time....he is a little shy....until your going out with him that is....then he will be all cockey again....i love that....he makes me laugh too

My very good friend and colleague has decided to leave we have worked together as a Senior management team for 4 years and I will miss him a great deal. No-one will replace him, his wit, his easy going nature and his support in bad times so I am very sad and dont want to work or talk to anyone - I have retreated to my burrow (might be out later)

Today I am really fed up, my job is so repetative and boring.
I wish I could just get over my nerves and pass my driving test! My instructer says that I would pass on my lessons and is actually teaching me advanced driving now!!!!

When I pass my test I can change my job!!! I've just been looking on the net at jobs I fancy a change but still linked to what I do now so I won't waste my qualification.

Any tips?

I've kept my test date quiet this time.

At 7:30 this morning just as the class I teach was to start I received a phonecall from the administrator that we were going into full lockdown. Apparantly a gunman was at large within a mile from our school, and SWAT teams, helicopters and police were searching for him. It was very hard to teach all day with the blinds drawn, waiting for something bad to happen... and I live in one of the nicest suburbs in the USA. When things like this happen- I ask myself... Christine- why are you staying here in the uSA???...Sorry had to vent.

No Kai,

I teach in one of the wealthiest suburbs in America- most are millionares who live here (but we are just 30 minutes from Philadelphia, now one of the highest crime/murder cities in America)

It's been a hard day. At times like this, I think I could never be a parent- the weight of the responsibility of caring for the life of children is enormous.

Agree . And these tornados and high winds. Last night it was the same old story...lie in bed listening to the fence break and then banging against the wall, trying to decide if to get out of bed and go outside in the rain and wind to fix it, or stay in bed and try to ignore the noise!! Thanks for the information Elisa but i can assure you that the local midges can bite in fact The Scottish Highland Fling originated when a laird got a swarm of midges up his kilt.

I was asked to sing at my schools christmas party! (A moment like this - Kelly Clarkson) I don't even go there any more and I said i've given up singing already!
I love singing don't get me wrong but I don't like to do public singing if I don't have to
So my voice is locked behind my bedroom walls and it will remain that way lol

I am moaning a lot today I realised lol Ah well I am having an annoying day so I have an excuse

lol you should have been in my house the other day...I began singing and then I stopped and my dog started to bark like mad, I was thinking "what the hell is her problem?" and then I started singing again because a song I liked came on the radio and she stopped barking. At first I thought I was imagining it so I stopped singing again and off she was barking her head off again!

I have a crazy ass dog! One is normal but the other is completely nuts! lol

I don't see why they can't just ask someone to sing who goes to the school! *rolls eyes and sighs*

F**K I AM REALLY PISSED OFF!

Whats bugging me today? Huh all most everything is… My daughter is recovering from her illness and now my hubby got orders to join fleet in 2 days time. He is speaking on phone after every half an hour with his superior command persuading them to change the orders after a week and as usual he is loud. He is hyper; making me and our children hyper at the same time. The loud speaking Turk in my home is bugging me today and loud crying tiny Turks are making me mad. Almost.

It make a thread so hard to read - I can put up with one or two, three is my max and then boredom sets in!! Well it is the season to be merry.................

Welcome to my world girleegirl! I have had chairs thrown at me, cursed at, employee's calling me at home etc.. Practical stuff? What practical stuff? Sweaters, blouses, trousers, skirts, colberts, underwear, socks & panties, shoes, a gift and a few toiletteries/medicines. The only 'practical' are the two battery loaders for my camera and cell phone. Other things (travel book, language guide, thriller, camera etc) I put in my handluggage. I think I will stay in Turkey for a month or so, clothes enough....

Trying to fit everything in one day!

Working the maximum hours I can (overtime) to get enough money to travel to see loved one etc. Trying to give myself a heads up on studying. Above all, I am cooking, cleaning and the usual.
And to top it all off dealing with other peoples (friends) problems (I can't say no when I am the only person who can help them...I wish I could but I can't)

OOF I need some serious relaxation and I need to seriously unstress myself! I am not even living on my own, and damn do I wish I was, then I wouldn't be moaning that I have to work so hard etc.

OOF FAMILY!! I get moaned at when not having a job and when I do get one I either need to get a different one or I am still moaned at! and that is one of the very little problems!

AHHHH I CAN'T DAMN WIN!!!!

I wish I could get away from here!
Any advice? *yawns and slumps on keyboard with book in hand*

no canıms, i was just clearly stating that you shouldn't say your life is worse off than others without knowing what the other person has been through.

Sorry to all if i upset you and to make certain i NEVER use any such tragedies in my life to make a point.

That happened to me once....well sort of....I needed to go up to the 5th floor (25 sets of stairs) and I went to get on level 1 when an annoying guy shut the doors on purpose and gave one of those cheesy smiles like this >>>
so I ran up to the second floor and beat the lift and when I got in the guy was like >>> and just to get my own back before I got out on the 5th floor i pressed all the buttons before his floor which hilariously was the 27th he wasn't very amused and in the end it was me who had the last laugh lol

Well I have something called kienbock's disease (not a disease though lol - just a bone condition)...I'm guessing if your not a doctor or haven't studied anything like this you won't know what it is.

I have studied human biology myself (and still doing so ) so I will try and tell you in the best and simplest way I can...

Basically in the wrist you have a bone called the Lunate bone which when having Kienbock's disease goes soft because the blood supply isn't getting to the lunate bone so when moving it, even to pick up a plate it hurts because the bones within the wrist jolt against it when moving the joint.
Anyway I had several x-ray's and a MRI scan and it showed my radius (bone in the arm to the wrist) is longer that ulnar (second bone in the arm that leads to the wrist), so what the sergeons basically have to do is saw away a few mm of my radius and put plates and bolts etc in it to make it the same size and effectively help the blood supply come back to the lunate bone

I hope I explained that well enough lol

When I say again I meant I have to wear a cast again (though I have had surgery before), because I had to wear one before the operation to rest it to see if that helped which it didn't as much as it should have so after having the operation I have to wear another one again!
Also having Kienbocks may explain why I broke my left wrist four times before the doctors said!

Also though the scar on my wrist will be vertical and not horizontal, I am a little worried about it because I don't want people to look at me and think I have cut myself or something like that

Have you had your surgery yet? You said 'urgent' but I have not seen you gone from here. And perhaps your wrist would feel better if you didn't type so much

lol I don't use wrist actions to type, heck I don't even have to look at the keyboard lol.....anyway about the operation, I am having a letter sent to me from the hospital to tell me when the date is. If it wasn't urgent the Doctor said "it could take at least 6 months before your even considered to have it, but you will be having it at the latest in March!"

Aren't we all, it's just a risk that if you think is worth taking, then you must try. You only live once and wouldn't it be sad if you listened to everyone else and then you missed out? Of course we must all be careful but just about everyone I know has eaten their words in regards to my relationship.

yes! precisely! I once read somewhere: Life is short and somtimes you just have to take the chance. Even if it is to risk getting hurt. I'm going ahead with it!!

No, robin was right, I am not in hospital now. Thankfully I only spent one night in there. My record for least amount of time! lol

Everywhere I turn, everyone keeps mentioning New York!!!
All of a sudden it's New York! New York, NEW BLOODY YORK!!!
The only one place I want to be!!

T.V, movies, songs, oh and not to forget the Radio! (news from radio - London is becoming the new New York as it opens a new Starbucks every two weeks for the next 10 years!)
AHHHH PLEASE STOP!!

The thing which is bugging me at the moment is that there is nothing new and interesting to read on TC other than some silly translation requests.

Start a new controversial topic! You're good at that (and I mean that as a true compliment).

That's a challenge I cannot say no to. Beat me? Ha! You bet. Where and when is the contest? And what's the prize for the winner (besides eternal fame)? lol

Just tell me who your partner is. The prize? Whatever you want. We can set a tournament, if there are other willing members to participate in.

Don't have an Okey-partner, but I'm sure there are others who want to join and be my partner. I warn you, I'm quite good myself (if you play by the international rules - Turkish rules I don't know). Wow, what a day will that be... me, beating Qdemir... lol!

If you can...
The winner is already evident. Lets talk about who comes second.

Trudy, you had better practise before the big day(I mean big for me,but sad for you). I don't think that can change the unavoidable end for you. But practice is good.
