Just a suggestion, if you do want to take any kind of facial or handwash, obviously you can't take liquids. However you can take wipes! So you can leave the plane feeling fresh and invigorated

Doomah, that's a great suggestion. I wish I would have thought of that, when I just flew.

I am an anti hand luggage person full stops! Reason? Because I never take that much anyway and there are some people who seem to have case bigger than my normal case.

And I nearly missed a flight once because of all the handluggage and additional security involved, flying out of Germany - I ended up with my hand luggage on my knee becuase of all the other hand luggage, there was no room for my paulty bag.

I travel alot, probably in one year I will fly 6 /7 times often long haul to Hong Kong/China and my hand luggage consists of:

Book, Passport, money, tickets, hotel confirmation, Ipod, bottle of water. Although this time I reckon I will ditch the water.

If you want to buy anything in the airport, have it so you can collect when you return. If you want to buy a present you will have to do that before you fly and pack it.

I think regulations from and to England are much more strict nowadays.
I went to Turkey from Brussels in July and came back half August, and the only things that were not allowed in hand luggage were the sharp things. No problem whatsoever with liquid stuff or sprays..
