Istanbul in January

I'm going to visit Istanbul for the first time this January (from 20th to 26th ).My friends said to me it's very cold in January....do u have any advice?

ehh it ll probably colder than italy just check the weather reports online and take sth thick in case of u need it....it mostly rains in istanbul but if it snows its freezing...have good travel...
