We recently had a forum where we wrote our songs which reminded us of our loved ones (forum held by: annalovesmed)
I was wondering if there were songs that are important to people other than the reason of their partner.
Please do share your song and reason

My favorite songs (not related to anyone in particular) are :
- "When you are gone "(The Cranberries) Because the lyrics are so beautiful and Dolores's voice is amazing!
- "Dreaming of you" (Selena , mexican/american singer) :
Because it was the last song she recordered before passing away at the age of 23!!)
-"La última noche" (Diego Torres) : great latin singer from Argentına
- "Kıyamam' (Zerrin Özer) : for many reasons...
- "Alev Alev" (F. Düzagaç) Because I fınd the lyrıcs very ıntense and deep.
I have many more but these are the ones that came to my tired head now!
Dilara.

Luz Casal-Piensa en mi
(reminds me of the "Spanish period" in my life)
Ismael Lo-Tajabone( OST Todo sobre mi madre)

I guess I made this forum so I should also say what song means alot to me and why.
It was the last song my dad heard (I sung it to him) before he died.
He didn't have to be -by Brad Paisley.
When a single mom goes out on a date with somebody new
It always winds up feeling more like a job interview
My momma used to wonder if she'd ever meet someone
Who wouldn't find out about me and then turn around and run
I met the man I call my dad when I was five years old
He took my mom out to a movie and for once I got to go
A few months later I remember lying there in bed
I overheard him pop the question and prayed that she'd say yes
'Chorus'
And then all of a sudden
Oh, it seemed so strange to me
How we went from something's missing
To a family
Lookin' back all I can say
About all the things he did for me
Is I hope I'm at least half the dad
That he didn't have to be
I met the girl that's now my wife about three years ago
We had the perfect marriage but we wanted somethin' more
Now here I stand surrounded by our family and friends
Crowded 'round the nursery window as they bring the baby in
'Chorus'
Yeah, I hope I'm at least half the dad
That he didn't have to be
Because he didn't have to be
You know he didn't have to be

There are so many but the one that touches me the most deeply is "To Sir With Love" by Lulu. It was a favorite song for my cousin and I. We were very close and we would get together all the time and sing that song at the top of our lungs. He passed away a few years ago but when I hear that song, I know he is still with me!!

I know all about that too. My dad and I used to sing 'the ants go marching two by two hurrah, hurrah'. We used to march around the house singing it at the top of our lungs and making up verses. We were a funny sight I'm sure. I also like gospel music, anything by Yolanda Adams or Kirk Franklin. Always gives hope.
