please correct:
huylu huyundan vaz gecmez: It is harder to change human nature than to change rivers and mountains.

Az soylemek cok soylemekten hair lidir. Az soyle oz solye/cok dinle. Iki dinle bir soyle: Few words are best.

Acin karni doyar, gozu doymaz.
Eyes are hungrier than the belly.

Ya bu deveyi gudersin, ya bu diyardan gidersin. Zaman sana uymazsa, sen zamana uy.

Not a Turkish proverb but only an ordinary sentence:

"Sevmek çaydır, sevilmek şeker. Bizim gibi garibanlar çayı şekersiz içer."

"To love is like tea, to be loved is like sugar; The poor like us drink their tea without sugar."

Maybe it needs correction.

Silence is better than nonsensical stuff...

Actually that is not quite right. To us it means that silence is a virtue, something to be cherished. I sometimes love silence, therefore to me in those moments "silence is golden".

He/she who travels far/much knows much: Not he who lived long knows, but he who traveled much knows. = Çok yaşayan bilmez, çok gezen bilir = Çok gezen çok bilir = Çok okuyan bilmez, çok gezen bilir.

other Turkish proverbs = Literal translation

- Çok mal/ para haramsız, çok laf yalansız olmaz: ıt is impossible to become rich withoutmoney illegitimately acquired, ill-gotten gains, much talks means much lies.
- Ofke ile kalkan zararla oturur = He who gets up (starts up) in anger, sits down with a loss.
- Bilmemek ayip degil, sormamak ayip = It is not disgraceful to ask, it is disgraceful no to ask.
- Ne ekersen, o'nu bicersin= You harvest what you sow.You will reap whatever you sow.
- Doğru söyleyeni dokuz köyden kovarlar : The one who speaks truth would be expelled from nine villages.
- Fala inanma falsız kalma : Don't believe in foretellings but don't stay without them.
- Gülü seven dikenine katlanır : Who loves a rose will endure its thorns.

(Çok konuşmak doğru değildir.Çok konuşan gereksiz, yanlış sözler söyler.Yerinde cevap verebilmen için de söylenenleri uzun uzun dinlemen gerekir.)

- Az söyle çok dinle.
(İnsan dinlemekle çok şey öğrenir.)

- Çok gezen çok bilir = Çok yaşayan -okuyan- bilmez çok gezen bilir.
(Çok gezen bildiklerine yeni bilgiler ekler.)

I dont think these are the Turkish proverbs. I think these are modern and ignorant Turkish people's fabrications (made-up). (and also maybe some other proverbs)
