Do the sounds resemble any other particular language for example? Some say it sounds very much like Russian.

My parents are from the central Anatolia and it`s a big difference. The Istanbul accent is much more polished, and it doesn`t have this annoying sound that comes from throat (like that in French).

Therefore next to Russia (or it was when it was the USSR) now Belarus! What makes you think Turkish sounds like Russian anyway? All those "z's" and spitting sounds?

Does to me too! We have lots of Polish and Russian in our town along with Lituanians, Estonians and Latvians and they all sound the same to me.

Kind regards
