All the streams of the region aim at finding their way into the Mediterranean and they pour down the slopes of the Tauros, sometimes overland sometimes underground and, reaching their destination, result in lovely waterfalls. This translucent running water, cascading into the sea at points along the coast, is one of the most attractive sights. There are more than twenty waterfalls in the region. The loveliest of these are the Upper Düden Waterfalls, 14 km northeast of Antalya, the Lower Düden Waterfalls, on the way to Lara Beach, the Kursunlu Waterfalls 18 km along the Antalya-Alanya highway and Manavgat Waterfalls, 3 km north of Manavgat.
