I am a female 20 year old Kenyan citizen planning to apply for a Turkey visitor visa next week,i have been invited by a female friend we met through the social network...I went to the embassy sometime ago and they asked for my bank statements,of which i didnt have at the that time because i normally save my money in investment groups,so i opened an account and deposited some money. That means the account will have been active for only 2 weeks by the time i submit my application (They had indicated that they want bank statements for the last 3 months).

My question is,will these factors (BEING INVITED THROUGH A SOCIAL NETWORK,PRESENTING BANK STATEMENTS OF LESS THAN 3 MONTHS,NOT HAVING MUCH IN MY ACCOUNT)affect me being granted a visa?

When I went to Turkey for vacation I arrived at the airport with no visa, stopped at the counter paid 35 Lira´s and had a 3 month visa stamped in my passport.

I had inquired in my country for a visa in advance and the cost of it was 120$ CND and a 15 days waiting period.

Usually you should not have any problems when arriving at any international airports of Turkey to procure yourself a visa.

 Stumpy, what nationality are you?

Visa rules are different for each country. British can buy a visa at entrance. NZ are free visas at entrance. But this doesn´t work for all countries. For example Nigerians have to get a visa in advance.

I´m Canadian and I know it differs from one country to another, I was just suprised the Nigeria they had to get it in advance because I was told that usually when you arrive at one of the international airports you could get your visa there.

And with my experaince when you get your visa in advance you are charged almost 4 to 5 times the price that you pay when you get it at the airport.

I am curriouse to see how much they pay the visa to Turkey in Nigeria.
