order of the sentence

The standard order of the sentence is Özne+Tümleç+Yüklem in Turkish.

özne (the subject)

tümleç (the complement)

yüklem (the predicate)

You can emphasize whichever word or word group you want while you are talking. It doesn´t matter very much where are the words. But we can hear the words in writing of course. Therefore it requires to know the places of the stress.

The stress is at the word or word group which is in front of the predicate.

I´m going to give the examples with the possible questions about them.

Ben okula gidiyorum. (I´m going to the "school".)

-Hasteneye gitmiyor musun? (Aren´t you going to the hospital?)

Okula ben gidiyorum. ("I" am going to the school.)

-Ağabeyin gitmiyor mu? (Aren´t your brother going?)

The stress is at the predicate if you write it on the first place. But you need to want to emphasize very much to do it.

Ben okula gidiyorum. : the standard one and the most used one (%95) is this

Gidiyorum okula ben.

/Gidiyorum ben okula. (I am """""going""""" to the school.)

This type isn´t used everytime very much. It is used for the momentary situations much more.

pazar (1Sunday, 2the market place)

domates (the tomato)

almak (1to take, 2to buy, 3..4..5..)

pazar+dan(ablative)--------->pazardan (from the market place)

al+dı+k--------------------->aldık (we took)

Pazardan domates aldık. (We bought "tomatoes" from the market place.)

Domatesi pazardan aldık. (We bought the tomatoes "from the market place".)

domates+i(accusative)------->domatesi (the tomato)

Biz pazardan domates aldık. (We bought "tomatoes" from the market place.)

Pazardan domatesi biz aldık. ("We" bought the tomatoes from the market place.)

/Domatesi pazardan biz aldık.

The locations of other components were not important, because the subject was already in front of the predicate.

sana (to you)

tabiî ki (of course, absolutely)

cam (the glass)

kırmak (to break (transitive))

kızmak (to get angry)

cam+ı(accusative)------------->camı (the glass)

kır+dık+n için------------------>kırdığın için (because you broke/break)

kız+r+ım---------------------->kızarım (I get angry)

Sana camı kırdığın için tabiî ki kızarım. (I "absolutely" get angry with you because you break the glass.)

Sana tabiî ki camı kırdığın için kızarım. (I get angry with you "because you break the glass" of course.)

/Kızarım camı kırdığın sana tabiî ki.

/Kızarım tabiî ki camı kırdığın için sana.

It doesn´t matter, because the emphasize is at the predicate because the predicate is in the first place.

ertele+n+di---------------> ertelendi (it was delayed)
