Quoting Suzie

Normally you only get one stem with three flowers on it.  Your mum has done really well.  She must have green fingers!

Do you say "green fingers" in turkish when someone is good at gardening or is there another phase you would use?

We don´t say "green fingers", but it could be bahçıvanlıkta iyi(good at gardening), bahçıvanlıkta usta(a master in gardening).

Normalde bir daldan sadece üç çiçek alırsın. Annen çok iyi başarmış. Bahçıvanlıkta usta olmalı.

Quoting Sweet_Paradise

I love this song by Ibrahim Tatlises but dont know the english, any help?

-Bir taş attım pencereye-
-I threw a stone to the window-

Bir taş attım pencereye tık dedi

I threw a stone to the window, it clicked
Anası çıktı kızım evde yok dedi vay vay

Her mom got out and said my daughter is not home wow wow

 İnanmazsan gel yukarı bak dedi
Come upstairs and look, if you don´t believe, she said
Armutu dalda kız balkonda sallanır vay vay

Pear swings at its twig, and the girl at the balcony wow wow
Şeker yemiş dudakları ballanır vay vay
She´s eaten candy, her lips are sweetening like honey wow wow
Atalım mı arap kızı atalım mı vay vay

Should we(I) shoot, Arabian girl, should we(I) shoot? wow wow
Senin için onbeş sene yatalım mı vay vay

Should we(I) stay in prison for fifteen years wow wow
Rakıyı da şaraba katalım mı vay vay
Should we(I) add raki to wine? wow wow

Demirciler demir döğer ocakta

Blacksmiths forge iron at workshop
Şimdiki kızlar ne hoş olur kucakta vay vay-2
The girls of today are so nice on the lap
Öpüşürken yemek yandı ocakta
The meal has burned on the oven while kissing
Armutu dalda kız balkonda sallanır vay vay

Pear swings at its twig, and the girl at the balcony wow wow
Şeker yemiş dudakları ballanır vay vay
She´s eaten candy, her lips are sweetening like honey wow wow
Atalım mı arap kızı atalım mı vay vay

Should we(I) shoot, Arabian girl, should we(I) shoot? wow wow
Senin için onbeş sene yatalım mı vay vay

Should we(I) stay in prison for fifteen years wow wow
Rakıyı da şaraba katalım mı vay vay
Should we(I) add raki to wine? wow wow

Demirciler demir döğer tunç olur

Blacksmiths forge iron, it becomes bronze
Altın yüzük parmağıma güç vay vay-2

The golden ring is hard on my finger wow wow
Sevip sevip ayrılması geç olur
It is late to leave after loving and loving
Armutu dalda kız balkonda sallanır vay vay

Pear swings at its twig, and the girl at the balcony wow wow
Şeker yemiş dudakları ballanır vay vay
She´s eaten candy, her lips are sweetening like honey wow wow
Atalım mı arap kızı atalım mı vay vay

Should we(I) shoot, Arabian girl, should we(I) shoot? wow wow
Senin için onbeş sene yatalım mı vay vay

Should we(I) stay in prison for fifteen years wow wow
Rakıyı da şaraba katalım mı vay vay
Should we(I) add raki to wine? wow wow

Quoting Inscrutable

Türkçe öğrenmiyorum, çünkü birkaç gün hastaydım.  I didn´t study Turkish for a few days, because I was sick.

Thank you

Let me write English and Turkish meanings of the sentences above. You will see what has happened up there.

Türkçe öğrenmiyorum: I am not studying(learning) Turkish.

çünkü birkaç gün hastaydım: because I was sick for a few days.

I didn´t study Turkish for a few days: Birkaç gün Türkçe çalışmadım

because I was sick: Çünkü hastaydım.

It suits well in this cold weather, isn´t it? Listen to it and you will be warmed up.

Quoting jjesejj

will someone translate these two sentances for me? i have a general idea what they say, but a few words i cant find anywhere...

viçdansız hem gızı istemiyon hemde sününce kucak açıyon adam söver nays mays yazınca

Kardeş ne yapayım ya onunla mı uğraşıcam, he deyip geç misali

thank you!!

(I hope I can give the whole meaning)

You hearless, you don´t want the girl, but when she climbs down, you open your arms. You should curse when she writes ´nice´ or something.

Bro, what should I do? I can´t deal with her, it´s like I say yeah and keep going.

My brother got these two messages on his facebook, and tried to reply on the first one - but are still not sure what they say since he used google translate
Would someone please help us?

OK, here is the thing. It´s an informal message and written in bad Turkish

- Hey boss, I´ll ask for your advice. Is this 007 working? Is there any way? It freezes on mine. May girls sacrifice themselves for you

- Hmm, OK boss, let me try. If it won´t work, I will update the chip again, but the machine freezes, I am freaked out. Let me try right away, boss Eric

(This sentence, "May girls sacrifice themselves for you", looks weird, I know. In Turkish, when something sacrifice itself for you, basically it means, may that thing becomes yours )

Quoting ayse-eski

May you always have work for your hands to do.
May your pockets hold always a coin or two.
May the sun shine bright on your windowpane.
May the rainbow be certain to follow each rain.
May the hand of a friend always be near you.
And may God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you.
- Irish Blessing

Ellerinin yapması için hep bir işin olsun.

Ceplerinde hep bir veya iki bozuk para bulunsun.

Güneş ışığı pencere camını aydınlatsın.

Gökkuşağı her yağmurun ardından kesin çıksın.

Bir arkadaşın eli sana hep yakın olsun.

Ve Tanrı seni mutlu etmek için yüreğini neşe ile doldursun.

-İrlanda duası
