10%! That is extortion! I can't believe they charge so much . So, even if you managed to pay off your 3000 YTL in a year, your total amount paid would be 6600 YTL?? The trouble is, many people still think of credit cards as a sign of status and wealth. I thought UK credit card companies were bad, but that is unbelievable!

Depending on your sexual orientiation I would say either:-
(1) Run!
(2) You're in there

PS. You live in one of my favourite cities in the world

I don't think it's that simple. Presumably they have to live near to Miss Ceyda's father's workplace - and if they move somewhere nearby the problem would just follow them. Also, it would be very difficult to sell a house with this history. In England you have to declare any problems or disputes you have had with your neighbours when you sell you house (true!) and the housing market is very slow right now as it is (I should know ). Also - why should they be driven from their home?

This sonnet has been in my head all day - maybe because it's been such a beautiful, sunny one!! When you say it, it sounds like a song So, I HAVE to post it, and will dedicate it to my love...

Shall I Compare Thee To A Summers day?
Sonnet 18
William Shakespeare

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate.
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date.
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimmed;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course untrimmed.
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall death brag thou wand'rest in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st,
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

My dear Monsieur de Bergerac,
I am disconsolate that you have resorted to such an oft used offensive expletive. The English language has a rich source of adjectives, all of which are at your disposal sir. I beseach you, do not flounder in your quest for words!

Used sparingly, expletives may add a vehemence to emotion - a verbal exclamation mark, if you will. Used habitually, they show a distinct lack of vocabulary and heedlessness Monsieur!

I am,
Your woebegon classmate,

Speaking of sayings...

Allah allah, see what I remembered now:

"Envy never has a holiday"

Ooo no Twinny - I agree, envy is no good at all!

“Envy is a symptom of lack of appreciation of our own uniqueness and self worth. Each of us has something to give that no one else has.”

Perhaps i should move to the Quotations Thread

I don't think we should be too harsh. These boys have just learned from experience! There must be a lot of silly girls sending presents and money to these workers and so it becomes "normal" to them, and they probably believe they are asking nothing unusual!
