What were the major differences between Mosques and Churches? What can make a mosque more beautiful than a church and vice versa?

What makes any religious building beautiful or otherwise is different for each individual, depending on their personal agenda (religious, not religious, architectural, historical, spiritual, experiential etc.). The inspiration for the commissioning and the design etc. may also be contributory factors when forming an opinion.
For my own part, I find beauty in simplicity, whichever religion.
Architecturally, I greatly appreciate structural design/innovation/craftsmanship of historical buildings.
I may form an opinion about a building from a photo, but it may change when I visit the building.
Some people may never contemplate the aesthetic beauty of their own place of worship, rather it is their fellow worshipping community that shapes their love of the building . . . childood memories, family etc. One could call it emotional beauty. Of course the reverse idea to this may be the case for some.
Wow Roswitha! What a question

Ever hear the saying, "beauty is in the eyes of the beholder"?
As to the differences between mosques and churches, it would depend on what denomination church for one thing.
The lack furniture, representational images and the direction of focus are some major differences. Mosques all have directional importance in as much as many items point to the direction of the Kaaba.
Mosques also have a prominent place to make ablution before entering. A place to leave shoes is another.

I think some mosques are very beautiful to look at. I would love to visit one inside but im not sure i would be allowed. Theres something very mysterious and mystical about them.
Are non muslims allowed in Mosques, just to take a look around? If so i imagine we have to cover up arms, legs etc, right?

Well, its allowed here 'Egypt',and i believe it is so in Türkiye too, what you have to do is to take off shoes thats for sure,or to wear something over them 'they are available at historical mosques '
Women would put on headscarf out of respect, but you dont have to cover up arms and legs, modest clothes would be enough.
