Kurtdereli Mehmet Pehlivan(1864-1939)--Turkish wrestler, he lived in the village of Kurtdere of Balıkesir. He was one of the first wrestler implemented style known as greco roman wrestling today. He traveled many countries such as USA, France, the Netherlands and Great Britain, he fought all famous wrestlers of his time but he was never defeated(There are rumours he lost to Koca Yusuf when he was young wrestler). Kurtderli

Narrative: Once Atatürk invited him after one of his victory and signs a cheque for him amount of 1000 Lira with the intention of awarding him. Very good money at that time even could buy a big apartment. Afterwards Kurtdereli went to İş bank in order to cash the cheque, he took his money without any problem but was still waiting in front of the cash clerk;

Cash clerk: Why are you still waiting Pehlivan?

Kurtdereli: Will you not give the cheque back?

Cash clerk: No of course, it will remain with the bank.

Kurtdereli suprised & responded: Then take your money back and give me the cheque, there is sign of Kemal Atatürk on it.

Armand Sağ- Turkish-Dutch, historian & Turkologist who lost his job in Netherlands because of denying the Armenian allegements...

Seriously... A 25 year old guy, born and raised in Holland who was a student untill a year ago... And the fact that he was, as HE says, fired over this matter is important enough for you to put him in the same list as people like Ataturk, sultan Ahmet, and Sinan? You should check your forehead for a fever.

And I say as HE says, because he took this case to court. He said he was fired by the organization for denying the Armenian genocide. In Holland you can deny this all you want. So firing him for this would be illegal. He went to court in Utrecht, and the court found him to have brought FALSE documents to court. After this claims against Armand were brought to the police for bringing in false documents, for slander, and some other minor offenses.

(it´s in Dutch, sorry... use google translate or something )

I know you like to go beserk on the Armenian issue, but please keep using your head in this matter. This guy was fired because he and the organization didn´t work well anymore. He couldn´t imagine that they were actually not happy with HIM, so he thought it must have been about the Armenian thing. Made up some lies and went to court. In court, a TURKISH lawyer showed that his statements were false.

And, by the way, the organization that he was fired from actually holds demonstrations against the whole Armenian genocide issue, since they say it´s being used as a pressure point in political gains. They are not saying it ever happened.

Murat Bardakçı published some articles and a book using Talat Paşa´s so called black book.

Yeah, because i decided he is more important than some moron singers & models with his knowledge. Do you not think? And above all that was my opinion. He was in turkis newspapers and i thought he is famous enough. And barba, you should learn how to show respect other´s opinion instead of mocking. Is it your duty here to judge people´s choices?

Regarding his story with  De Dagelijksestandaard, he was warned and e-mailed about his writings and requested either apologize for what he had written or quit writing for the site. And that is enough for me to realize how this works work in the Netherlands. Is it also not true that he was warned and requested to apologize barba??
