Gulhane Park, is one of the oldest in Istanbul. I think you can see this, as the Avenue of Plane Trees that you walk through are huge!
"Gulhane" in the past, prior to the Ottomans, had military depots in the park during the Byzantine era, then the Mangana Palace was built. Because the Hagios Georgios Monastery and the Sacred Fountain were also nearby, this was actually a sacred piece of land. (Location: Turkey)
