If i am in Turkey and want to ask someone "how are you?" - to say to him "nasýlsýn" instead of "nasýlsýnýz" is that awful? i mean, is it really significant to say "nasýlsýnýz" and not just "nasýlsýn" / "nerelisiniz" and not just "nerelisin"?

and 1 more question... he says "anlayamadýn" - what does it mean? someone told me it means "you coudnt understand"... but the word "could/can" is "abil/ebil" no? please explain ):
