Merhaba! I have a simple question about beloved vowel harmony. With the word "gitmek", when I conjugate will it be ben gityorum or ben gidyorum? Teşekkuler!

I'm just curious about this. My husband and I have been sending lots of packages over to my sister-in-law for her baby due in November. She goes online and looks at all the products from the different stores we send the gifts from...and finds a hundred more things she wants us to mail to her! It's very funny.

If you live in Turkey, are there things you wish you could get over there?

Hi everyone! More as a joke, I'd like to greet my husband with "bayraminiz kutlu olsun." How do you pronounce bayraminiz? Thanks!

Actually, my Turkish husband has never touched a cigarette! I don't know if that's the norm or not. He's very athletic and that's more what I equate with the Turks I know.

I read your post out of morbid curiosity because I couldn't possibly translate that much Turkish. But if someone has hurt you this much, why not tell them from your heart...which would mean in your own language? Good luck!

Good morning! My husband cc'ed me on this email to his sister. I think it basically says that I'll be sending out a package to her tomorrow and that he hopes that everything is going well with her. Am I right and did I miss anything? Thanks a million!

After reading the stories on here (thank you!) I've decided I'd like to buy a children's book with many easy stories. I enjoy learning that way and I think even though my Turkish husband thinks it's a bit silly, he also enjoys helping. Anyway, one possibility is "Türk Ninnilerinden Seçmeler." The book is described as:

Ninniler en az iki-üç aylıktan üç-dört yaşına kadar annenin çocuğuna, onu kucağında, ayağında veya beşikte sallayarak daha çabuk ve kolay uyutmak yahut ağlamasını susturmak için özel bir beste mani türünde bir dörtlükten meydana gelen bir çeşit türkülerdir.

Does it sound like what I'm looking for?

Thanks!
