Is this part of turkish custom?-please help!!!!

hi guys i was wondering if anyone knows if it is part of turkish custom not to say i love you (or seni seviyorum) to your girlfriend in front of your parients? ive been told its out of respect is this true?

from what i have been seen its disrespectful to show any form of affection in front of parents..but i'm not sure if saying 'seni seviyorum' is included in that..

ur welcome..but if its any further help i know that girlfriends wont meet the family unless its serious in the first place

As far as i seen and experienced, the turkish boys/men are reserved in showing or expressing affection towards their girlfriend in public places or in the presence of family..

I have to disagree with you Robyn, as it is not a general rule in Turkiye or in another country..In some cases, meeting the parents means that the relationship is serious and maybe its leading to marriage..but i know a case when the girl met the boy's parents and few months later, they broke up..I think we shouldn't generalize things that we don't know, as each person is different than another one, so are the relationships

Anyway, Vickysmith, i wish you all the happiness in the world and the best!

i think we have started a feud my dear ..if i remember correctly u had experience with a single man..whereas i regularly socialise within the turkish community in my area..and all of these act in this way just to clarify that

p.s. i still hate galatasaray lollol
