Your boyfriend is generalising - maybe his family are especially religious or from a small village.

My bf works in a bank dealing wiz computer engineeering. He was born in Istanbul. His family is not very religious, they fast during Ramadan.I know many samples of girls being forced to accept islam after marraige. By the way, the kids in international families indicated as MUSLIM regarding their religy. And how can a non muslim mother bring up a future muslim not knwoing the principles of muslim religy?? in the long run she will have to accept islam. I wanna hear opinions of christiam females married to turks

i dont know any christian women married to turkish men but i do women that are atheist who are married with turkish men.. and they are happy together despite not belieiving in Islam.and for the record children cannot be forced into Islam, they have to swear into islam of their free will if they so wish when they are old enough..

What happens if a man becomes muslim? Has to be circumcised too? If so... without anesthesia? :-S

Merhaba natiypuspi!
I think your question is in the wrong topic as it has nothing to do with living or travelling to Turkiye Maybe you should change its place...

Maria

Actually, my question is here because many people were asking if it is a condition becoming muslim to marry a turkish; just this.
I know that is an important ceremony. In my country there are many muslmim comunities but not so many as jews. Anyway, here not so many jews are circumcised. And people who come from muslim countries, most of them become christian with time. And I just wanted to know.
