Hii...Well personally I think Icmeler is the best in Turkey...I have been other places (Olu Deniz, Side, Feythie, Marmaris) Marmaris I would advise for the younger people as there are much more nightclubs rather than bars, and have a better atmosphere for young people. I think all over Turkey has just the best people, well known for their hospitality and welcoming =] Icmeler has really nice scenary, isn't too quiet anymore but yet doesn't have all the nightclubs of marmaris (which is only a 10minute dolmus ride away), but does have 2 low-key nightclubs. Because it is smaller, it is easier to know other people and i really enjoy it here. Obviously i might be a little biased because I live here part-times =P (hoping to move properly next June). Hehe =]

At last!! A post by a Turk about Turkey!!

I have only been to Istanbul and Olu Deniz, but I liked both equally for different reasons.

Istanbul is intriguing, mysterious and exciting. I love the atmosphere. I would recommend anyone to go there, unless you need help walking then it would be a problem. I went to the normal tourist places and only problem was being hounded by someone wanting to show you round but first you come to my carpet shop!!

Olu Deniz is beautiful. Very friendly resort because it is small. The cool bars - great!! And some fabulous restaurants. Plus you get to know everyone who are trying to sell! One guy called out to me "where are you going" I said "Swimming" - heading towards the beach but dressed to go out. On the way back, he called out again "where are you going" and I said "swimming" I left him in fits of laughter.

I will return next year to do the things I didn;t have time for........
Paragliding, white water rafting, quad biking and hopefully visting some historical sites to.

I plan in the future to take a treking holiday in the mountains...........

Merhaba!
I have only been to Turkiye just once, but my opinion as a foreigner is that the best place is Istanbul:it has so many interesting places to visit like Aya Sofia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Sarayi, Dolmabahce Palace, the Grand Bazaar, ect. The second best place in Turkiye i would say it is Ephesus, because of its historical background. And the third place would be of course, the pearl of the turkish Riviera, Marmaris..Who can forget the nightclubs, the sunny days spent there?
But there is one special thing that i liked the most while being in Turkiye: its the close family ties.I was impressed to see the bond between the old and the new generation, the big happy turkish family( grandparents, nephews, cousins)gathered all around the table, chatting, joking, changing opinions at least once a week..Maybe i am too emotional but I miss that feeling
I don't know what it is about Istanbul, or Turkiye in general, but there is something there that makes you fall in love with it instantly..At least that happened to me the moment i touched the turkish ground

Well thats from my opinion and it is rather a tourist place, but maybe Istanbul for it's culture. Overall Turkey is great, the people just make it so much more better. I am not saying this because my dad is Turkish hehe just because its the best place I have visitied. There are so many different things to see and do!!!!
