While reading a lesson today, 2 sentences caught my attention
1. öp beni!
2. sıcak mezeler ne var?
Should the first sentence be 'beni öp' instead? Does it matter?
For the second sentence, is it ok if I say 'ne sıcak mezeler var?' Again, does it matter?
Turkish word order often confuses me, so I want to get it right.
THANKS!!

1- "beni öp" is natural Turkish word order. But "öp beni" is possible and more sentimental. So it's even more preferred in colloquial language.
In general, Turkish is very flexable as far as the word order is concerned. English however is dependant on the word order more than Turkish.
Example:
Oğlan kızı öptü -- The boy kissed the girl.
Now here you can freely order Turkish sentence. We have 3 units and perm(3)=6. So we can have 6 different sentences with the same meaning.
Now let's change the example a little:
Mavi gözlü oğlan sarışın kızı öptü
The blue eyed boy kissed the blonde girl
Again you can freely order it without changing the sub-units (underlined parts) but you can not change Mavi gözlü oğlan in itself for example.
Öptü sarışın kızı mavi gözlü oğlan.
Öptü mavi gözlü oğlan sarışın kızı.
Sarışın kızı mavi gözlü oğlan öptü.
Mavi gözlü oğlan sarışın kızı öptü.
Sarışın kızı öptü mavi gözlü oğlan.
Mavi gözlü oğlan öptü sarışın kızı.
2- "sıcak mezeler ne var?"
This sentence is somewhat broken. I wonder where you saw it.
Would be better this way:
Sıcak mezelerden ne var? (a)
Or
Ne gibi sıcak mezeler var? (b)
You can re-order (a) as
ne var sıcak mezelerden?
but you cannot (b).

Thanks guys! This is very helpful .
The second sentence was actually part of a dialogue in my lesson, but your examples make more sense to me.
