Please could someone advise on best advice to get guard against viruses.

I was going to buy Norton virus free disc, it only lasts a year. Then someone told me I can get virus clean through my broadband.

Look forward to your replies.

well.. i think you should use more than one virus programme. definetely.
try several firewalls too.. such as... let me see what iv got on here...

kerio personal firewall
pc guard
pest patrol control terminal
chaos manager
spy bouncer
spykiller

there are probably more on here.. but i just cant spot them all right now..
these are good ones though...and if someone tries to get into ur pc, it comes up on ur monitor and u can accept or deny it

Look for Hitman Pro
It has several programs to protect against spy- and adware in one application that does everything by itself. You just have to start it and then leave it alone. I think it's great.
But it is NOT a virus scanner. At work we use a very good one that's for free: AVG Free
I would definitely recommend it.

Forgot to mention Avast
Another good one, and also for free. You might want to compare them.
