Quoting Ayla:

I want to hug you
Seni kucaklamak istiyorum

I want you to hug me
Beni kucaklamanı istiyorum

OK - I can see why seni/beni but two questions
1. why kucaklamak and not kucaklamam(-ı )?
2. why the suffix in kucaklamanı when "istemek" doesn't take a noun state?

merhaba!

I want to hug you= sana sarilmak istiyorum
I want you to hug me= bana sarilmani istiyorum

istemek does not ask the accusative suffix when the subject of the two clauses is the same (I want/ I hug)
istemek asks the accusative suffix when there are two clauses and two subjects (I want/ you hug)

Cay icmek istiyorum= I want to dink tea
I want to love you= Seni sevmek istiyorum (the same subject -I)
I want YOU to love me= beni sevmeni istiyorum (two subjects: I and You)
I want him to love me= Beni sevmesini istiyorum

etc, etc

Thanks for your explanation - although I am not sure I fully understand them without reading them a few more times!!!

But this still does not explan why the full infinitive is used and not the possessive partial infinitive. For example why:
Seni kucaklamak/sarılmak istiyorum
and not:
Seni kucaklamamı/sarılmamı istiyorum

but I sure

Seni kucaklamak istiyorum.

Sana sarılmak istiyorum. ("Sana")

negative ;

"Seni kucaklamak istemiyorum."

"Sana sarılmak istemiyorum" ("Sana")

I want to hug you
Seni kucaklamak istiyorum

Notice that underlined clause's "doer" is "you" which is shown with possessive suffix in Turkish:
I want you to hug me
Beni kucaklamanı istiyorum

1- In the first main verb and the clause's subject is ben (I) so we don't say "kucaklamamı" but kucaklamak instead.
2- after a possessive suffix you should add accusative suffix to the clause.
