settlement visa questions

My husband's interview is coming up in just over 2 weeks, i have told him about this forum and how some people can be very helpful on here and he has asked me to put a post on here to see if any Turkish nationals who already have their 2yr settlement visa come on here or their spouses about the questions the embassy asked during the interview.
We have been briefed by our solicitor and a couple of his friends but the more people we ask the wider the spectrum of answers become, so if anyone can give us an incling we would appreciate it.

thanks suzie for replying i thought no one on here had brought their husband/wife or partner over the the uk as no one responded. it WAS his settlement visa after mariage but he's had his interview now and he failed, we are both deflated and numb by the news and so its off to appeal now
Thanks for taking the time to reply, ive not been on here for over a week due to other commitments

Hi RobynD
we supplied everything they required and i even called the Embassy from the UK and asked them was there anything else they required in order to process the application and they stated they had everything they needed.
They even commented at the time of handing in the application that we had supplied a letter from the environmental health dept after a house inspection because very few people get this done and it is a requirment (however ive never seen it publisised anywhere and only my solicitor told me its a requirement)
One thing that really shocked me was that they stated there was lack of evidence that we were in regular contact and yet i call him every single day sometimes twice if im not working and produced a pre-paid phone card statement 6 pages long showing i have called his home tel number without a single day missed and a print out of the time ,date & tel number of text messages i sent which again are daily and resulted in over 1000 in 4 months. What more evidence did they want to prove we are in REGULAR contact?
What I think was also unfair was the interviewer put in his report that although he was faultess in answering the questions put to him they were too short and lacked detail and yet he said when he was answering his questions he was stopped and asked to keep his answers short.
All this will be put to our solicitor because I think they were a bit unfair to stop him answering properly and then penalised him for not answering fully enough.
He was questioned as to why none of my family or friends went to the wedding and he did explain we were going to get married this year however we brought the wedding forward because we wanted to be together and a long distance relationship is hard to maintain, we just wanted to be together and because it was just before christmas and friends had planned for this year and they had to think of their famillies first because of the cost of flights and accomodation is to much just before christmas which i understand and my mother is disabled and just isnt able to travel, she cant even get on a train because of the gap between the train and platform and is permenantly in pain she just couldnt get on a plane and sit in the seats for the flight duration and steps and stairs are only possible if she gets on her hands and knees and in turkey there are steps everywhere, he wanted to explain her disability and how upset she was to have to miss her only daughters frist marraige but they stopped him and said they didnt need to know.
Utility bills is something ive never put into joint names and my long term relationships ive had in the past were kept in my name and i personally dont have a relationship and then put my partners name on my debts, never have done and so not any differently when Ahmet moved in. I was told i had to and so i did and of course they picked up on this that they were put into joint names after he returned to Turkey, i know that but if this is what the Embassy want then i did it He isnt on my mortgage but it doesnt mean he didnt live with me,
i evidenced everything they asked for except photos of us together in the UK but i am not photogenic and hate my photo taken and i cant remember the last time i got my camera out ! my partner of 4yrs dont have a single photo of him and me together its something i dont do, i know they wanted this evidence and if i had known at the start of our relationship we were going to get married then i would of got my camera out and snapped away but i didnt know we were going to get married and have a lasting relationship and so thinking of getting my camera out and taking photos didnt cross my mind .
After he left his interview he came away with no paperwork at all only his passport, wedding cert and photos we supplied and we had to wait outside the embassy for 2 1/2 hrs liasing between the security and the embassy staff who repeatedly stated he was given everything, i told them i wanted my origianl bank statements and wage slips back , they told Ahmet he was given his file back.
We gave up and went back to the hotel and i said i'd take it up with the solicitor when i got home , he was paying for the taxi when the embassy called him and said could he go back because they had made a mistake they had his paperwork !
even so they only gave him the refusal form and my bank statements and wage slips all other paperwork and doucments have been retained , our solicitor is not happy.
I know some will thing "well you didnt give everything" but when i physically called them, sent a fax asking if there was anything they needed / wanted and was told they had EVERYTHING, and that they stopped him from answering questions in detail and then penalised him for not answering in full is a little unfair.
I know that their decison is made prior to the interview and that before he entered the embassy gates his fate had been decided but its just the way they handled the interview that we are upset about
sorry to go on folks but im hoping our experiences will help others, so girls and boys if you have a new love in your life get your camera out now, you can always destroy the photos if you seperate but plan ahead just incase !
