i wore a black v neck dress.knee length with diamante shoes and my big pregnancy bump..no1 battered an eyelid and some of the turkish guests were dressed worse than in England..there were no other english people there so im not being offensive to turkish people

Oh you are right :-S How ignorant of me to advice that! And for that too.. i remember it from the film Gegen Die Wand now.. if you buy sweets, for instant chocolate, make sure they are not filled with liquor

Alcohol?? There was more Raki on the table than in the supermarket, wine flowing freely and Efes for the men (and me!)......... I just did the give money thing, putting it in the little bag that the bride carried around when greeting all the guests.

Hmmm....I can't seem to quote here, but as I understood the post....she said "traditional wedding". I've been to many Turkish weddings and some of the more modern ones serve alcohol, but the "traditional" ones did not. Perhaps we need to define just what "traditional" means?
