what i do is when i have an english word, i look on the dictionary and then use the first word provided and check it by tranlsating it back to english. you have to translate twice but its almost always correct.

e.g. to see = f. (saw, seen) görmek; anlamak, farkına varmak; bakmak, dikkat etmek; görüşmek, kabul etmek; tecrübesi olmak, tecrübe ile öğrenmek; geçirmek
etc etc etc.

so i would then use gormek and it will produce me with - görmek
,-ür
1. /ı/ to see.
2. /ı/ to see, watch.
3. /ı/ to see, perceive, discern (mentally).

whereas if i were to check anlamak it would show me - anlamak

1. /ı/ to understand, comprehend.
2. /ı/ to find out.
3. /dan/ to know (about), have knowledge (of).

hope u understand what i mean haha its difficult to describe.

Not really,i do this too,and i see which one of them are more close to the meaning i need.
Sometimes, you find the verbs in some sentences, and it bring the meaning even more closer.
