i agree this site has helped me a lot!! dating maybe not but friends yes!!!!i have a few friends off here and they are wonderful people they help me with my turkish and would never think of dating them. it just a few people send you messages, wanting your mail address, maybe the site shouldnt have the bit about if your male or female! or even the pictures even though i have both of these this site is for learning not knowing who you are!!!!

That's a good point. I also think that there is plenty of chance to find friends here, both on the forum and in the chat. But I can't see the problem in posting photos because people shouldn't have to hide in order to keep love hungry spammers away. I like to put a face on the persons I'm communicating with on the forum.

Why are people so up in arms about Spam? Isn't it just the same as watching annoying commercials on T.V. or getting unwanted advertisments in the mail? I mean if you don't like the content just push delete. I personally find spam funny. And if I do not reply after a few attempts they just go away. And actually I got one spam message that was so funny I had to reply and have since been exchanging great jokes with the person. Turns out we have the same nerdy sense of humor! Go figure!

Needless to say, it isn't the pictures that attract them. Spammers send messages to EVERYBODY. Otherwise it isn't spam!

I think you will find that "people" over exagerates the number who are bothered about spam, can count them on one hand, even maybe one finger

Uh I don't think she was talking about the number of spam messages Kai, I think she was referring to the number of people "bothered" by spam.
