Cok ileri bir tarihte
Cok yasli olarak
Sessizce ayrilmaliyim
Kimseye pek gozukmeden
Ve kimseyi rahatsiz etmeden.

On a very far date
With being much old
Silently, i should leave
Without being seen to anyone much
And without irritating anyone

Masamin uzerinde
Dunden kalan isler
Tamamlanmamis yazilar
Okunmayi bekleyen kitaplar
Ve anilar ve umutlar.

Over my desk
Works remained from yesterday
Unfinished writings
Books wait to be read
And memories and hopes.

Filleri kuyrugundan cekerek
Tepeleri asirtmakti gorevim
Gunler bitti filler tukenmedi
Ben elimden geleni yaptim
Gerisini siz tamamlayin.

With holding elephants' from their tail
To make them pass the hills was my duty
Days finished, but elephants not
I have done what i can do
The rest, you complete

Bosa gecmedi hayatim
Daha fazlasi olabilirdi ama
'Buna da sukur' demeliyim
Iste sevgili dostlar
Ben boyle "veda" etmeliyim.

My life didnt pass for nothing
I could do more though
"Thank God" i should say

just thought he deserved to be mentioned as we talk about lots of things here...

That poem touched me so much - it brought tears to my eyes .

I heard this sad news today. Istanbul will see yet another funeral this week - Friday this time
