Merhaba everyone!
I would like to hear your comments, opinions about the following matter:

A worldwide survey was recently made : "Please tell us your opinion about the lack of aliment(food) from the rest of the world".
The survey was a total fiasco, here are the replies:
- In Africa they didnt know what "aliment(food)"means.
- In Western Europe they didnt know what "lack" means.
- In Eastern Europe they didnt know what "opinion" means.
- In South America they didnt know what "please" means.
- In USA they didnt know what "the rest of the world" means.

is this a joke?

because i think it is all based on stereotypical jokes..
in africa they dont know what food is because there is mass famine
in western europe they didnt know what lack was because most people are seen as well off
in eastern europe they didnt understand what opinion meant because apparently they all think the same
in south america they didnt know what please meant because they dont ask they take
in america they dont know what the rest of the world is because they think america is the world...

so i think its a joke based on common perceptions of certain areas...

Who did the survey go to, ordinary people or governments? I think ordinary people would understand, but I can see that governments would not understand, purely because they don't live in the "real world".

I must say though, it seems rather a ridiculous survey and it does appear at first glance to be some sort of joke :-S

Why did you present this joke as a "survey"? Do we really need to exacerbate the already stereotypical way people are viewed?

Merhaba Aenigma x!
My intention when posting was not to have one more discussion about stereotypes or how a certain country and its habitants are seen by others..We had too many topics on TC about that and still we didnt draw a conclusion.
I think that behind this "joke" there is a grain of truth and i wanted people to talk about that..Maybe i wasnt clear enough :-S , but anyway, i would like to thank everyone who replied!
