Installing dictionary

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to put this thread, but here goes.
After installing the dictionary on my computer, it simply can't load. I can open "settings" and "about" but I simply cannot open the dictionary itself.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, what did you do?

I have never had any problems with my computer before and I have checked for updates to my computer but nothing helps.

I think that you are looking for the dictionary window to open where you could enter words. If you see the dictionary icon in the right bottom corner of your computer it means that the software is running and it will open when you "Alt + left click" on a word.

Thank you so much catwoman! How embarrassing that I didn't realize that. Problem solved then

"Alt + left click" on a word.

Do we know if there is a keyboard shortcut for this to save having to use the mouse?

Since the dictionary displays meanings for the word under the mouse pointer, there is no shortcut that doesn't use the mouse.

Yes it does display the word under the mouse
I had assumed that it displayed the word that was highlighted
