Does Marmaris restaraunt's except English money or will i need turkish lera????????? Am going to Marmaris next week and i don't want to exchange my money. I will not be shopping etc, just eating out and drinking. Will i get away with just english money?

i dont think they accept british sterling in marmaris..i think it is euros or liras..alternatively you could take english pounds n exchange it in marmaris but that would be more expensive,

The easiest and cheapest way is to get Turkish lira from an ATM in Marmaris. Even if they accept British money, it will be at a ridiculous rate.

I'd definitely advise you to pay in YTL. Even if you pay in euros, you will usually lose money because prices aren't updated. And what's the point anyway? Lira is the currency in Turkey, so it's natural to use that. As I have worked in a restraurant, I know it's annoying when people want to pay in their own currency, because there's just isn't a good excuse to do it. You'd help anyone who sells something you by using YTL
