Depending on the context you could translate it two ways, either as "used to" or "would" (conditional).

We used to lie together / We would lie together
We used to hug each other / We would hug each other.
I wish you were here.

Well, since English doesn't have one word that carries the exact meaning of "keşke," you need sometimes to interpret rather than just use a dictionary definition. How many speakers of English (at least American English) would actually say "If only you were here." We'd say "I wish you were here," or "I really wish you were here."
