The following is an excerpt from an email from the Humane Society of the United States and although it is from the US, this is an important topic all over the world and Amazon is an international retailer:
Did you know that Amazon.com is peddling materials that are both illegal and cruel to animals? It's true: Amazon.com is selling materials that promote cockfighting and dogfighting, and The Humane Society of the United States has been pressuring the company to remove these materials for many months.
Yesterday, the online retail giant told us that two dogfighting DVDs would be pulled from the site. This is a win for the dogs abused and killed in dogfights, but in the past Amazon.com has removed similar videos only to offer them for sale again later.
Amazon.com must make a clear commitment to keeping all promotions of illegal animal fighting off their virtual shelves.
Now, Amazon.com must also cease its unsavory profiteering from The Gamecock and The Feathered Warrior, magazines that sell illegal animal-fighting paraphernalia and call attention to cockfighting venues. These magazines are the glue that holds together the criminal cockfighting industry in this country, and Amazon.com is their main internet subscription tool.
Today, please join us in telling Amazon.com that it's time for a zero-tolerance policy against the violent spectacle of animal fighting for human amusement. Call Amazon.com right now at 206-266-1000 and demand that they stop collecting blood money from this exploitation of animals.
Tell Amazon that honorable retailers must refrain from profiting from criminal activities.
You can also use Amazon.com's web form to make your point. Then, please let us know you called and ask your friends and family to make the call against animal fighting, too.
Thank you for taking action and for all you do for animals.
Wayne Pacelle

That's the point. If enough people boycott them, it will hit them where it hurts and they will get the message. There are plenty of other places to shop for the items that Amazon sells!

Hehe! What sensitivity and a topic! Amazon.com sells materials promoting "human" cruelty as well. But no-one has so far complained about this. When it is come to animals, every kind of boycott is started; but when to human, it is just ignored!
Obviously we are all animal-lovers, but human-haters! The more we hate humans, the more we love animals, or vice versa!

That is an odd statement. How do you get that we are 'human-haters' because of a post against animal cruelty?
If you have any evidence of Amazon promoting human cruelty...post it!

If we boycotted every Company that did something we don't like we would not buy anything.
Ok I don't like dog fighting and cock fighting, they are disgusting 'sports' and make me sick, but I bet you all buy Nike trainers and sports wear, stuff from Walmart, stuff from Logitec, Reebok, Disney etc etc well these let illegal practices go on in their factories in China and other parts of Asia, fining workers, below minimum wage, unfair dismisals, locked in dormitories at night, forced and bonded labour. I am not saying they are guilty of all of these, but many Companies are, even Apple. These Companies I have mentioned have all been caught out and the CEO of Walmart was publically exposed on TV over child labour.
Child Labour in India working in smelting factories with absolutely no persoanal protection, lucky if they are wearing any shoes, or making rugs chained to their benches. You buy stuff from Companies that have their factories in the Maquiladoras in Mexico - forced abortions and I could go on all night............. need I say more
