Şimdi biz İstanbul'da

The hotel is really nice and friendly (https://www.istanbulhotelnena.com/index.htm) and as a bonus the staff speak good English but are happy to talk with me in Turkish - although mixed with English as they speak better English than I do Turkish.

Although anyone thinking of flying EasyJet from Luton Airport - my advice would be *DON'T*

For the first time ever I had a conversation with a passport official entirely in Turkish!!! That was great even though it was very simple Turkish.

We had a walk around the Grand Bizarre this evening and I got lots of funny looks - not sure why so many as there are quite a number of alternative people here (mostly girls and mostly either just silly looking or quite sexy - not sure why there are virtually no individual bois here :-S)

Bod,

I hope you have a wonderful stay. I am nostalgic as I stayed at Hotel Nena last summer. The kilim shops across the street are quite a treat! If you are strong, you can strike a good bargain.

Cheers,
Christine

We had a great stay thanks

The carpet shop opposite was "interesting" - we had no intention of buying a carpet.....but we did take advantage of free coffee from them Although Hotel Nena was good, I thought the bar and restaurant to be expensive and lacking in atmosphere but of course it was not exactly high season.

Oh dear - I did say I would write an essay after my previous trip to Turkia and never got around to it
I will try!!!

I did try and upload some personal pictures but it seems the limit has been decreased from 16 to just 2 so I was unable to do so
