It happens from time to time. In our building we have a reserve, so we can still get water. We are just supposed to postpone laundry and other things.

I'm proud to say that power outages are much rarer now than they were just a few years ago. There was a time where any given night in Beyoglu, the background sound was the dull hum of generators...

Quoting yuzu: I am leaving for Istanbul tomorrow. It will be my first visit to Turkey and I am very excited.
But a friend I am going to see there told me last night that the water supply to most part of the city of Istanbul has been cut off...and don't know when it will be back.
Does anyone know any latest news reagarding this?
Thanks

I havent seen such a problem in istanbul for along time. At least in our site, there is no problem. dont worry we have enough water, if you dont think it s not enough for you, just go to bosphorus

You say that, but its no secret that Turkey has been in drought conditions for a while. The resevoirs are currently very low. The next 3 months is typically the rainiest season, so its important that we get rain.
And you can drink the Bogaz water if you like. I'll stick Erikli...
