Can someone please confirm the region code for DVD's in turkey? Is it region 2 (the same as England)?

It is definitely Region 2- but caution. Omer and I purchased DVD's to watch at our apartment in Besiktas this winter break and they would not play, as the DVD player was from America, and couldn't read them. I figured out a way to switch regions on my MAC laptop so we could watch them- and there was a huge caution: you can only switch regions on a MAC 5 times and then the hard drive- literally shuts down. This is for the life of the computer.

It's unfortunate, because I purchased videos to show my students. I only have two opportunities to switch regions. The tech people at my work have e-mailed MAC about this....

What a silly setup- especially in this global age...

I watch DVDs on my laptop. Would that be any problem?
