"Çok yazık, sana 3 paket göndermiştim, birinde telefon vardı. Kayboldu diye endişeliyim. Bu doğru adres mi? Umarım iyisin."
Anytime. You're welcome.

Emma: twice I have sent things to Turkey and it hasn't arrived. I only use Western Union money transfer now. Hope this helps you.
You can be sure. It can be collected in 20 mins, as long as person has proof of identity and given the 10 digit number from you by W.U.

Hello Emma,
It is good idea to send packages with registered mail and have insurance. It includes insurance for $100 and then the each additional $100 have pay only $1.Then you don't have to worry.Of course when you send something you want that person could get it. I have sent many and they arrived but just it took little long.It is not the post office's fault. The castoms in Turkey keep the parcel. With the phone you have to know what kind phone they can use in Turkey. The person has to pay there to take the phone. And if the phone is the kind they do not allow to use, they gonna send that phone back to you. Instead of Western Union good idea to use Money Gram, twice cheaper, and same thing.
Good luck

I sent international signed for and it never reached destination in Turkey. Too much hassle with Royal Mail, since June, and still waiting for compensation.

Thanks everyone for your advice and shared experiences with the postal service to Turkey. Luckily it was only a second hand phone and not expensive but it was the value it would have for my friend who doesn't have one and I was so looking forward to knowing it had arrived safely. I sent it 6 weeks ago now but it may still arrive. Next time I will follow your suggestions and send it in a way that it can be traced.
Thanks again
Em
