Could we add “arts” to the title as “Turkish fine arts, poetry and literature?”

Wrong category agan, niobe, dear

This is the thread for all suggestions and ideas for improving the site:
http://www.turkishclass.com/forumTitle_11_2470

Let me remind you one more time that, besides poetry and literature forums, there are other areas on this site

I hope it was straight enough for those who insist on it

Great idea about fine arts, though I think, too, that you should ask moderators where to put that thread so that it doesn't end as "Off-topic". I am sure they will like the idea, it deserves to be considered seriously. Maybe "Turkey" forum would be best for it (and be sure I'll join it!)

For niobe and his wonderful ideas:

Fine arts are not a bad idea indeed This is for you niobe

I’m, of course, ready to support fine arts as a sepatare forum category, maybe in Turkish Culture and Literature part – if we have Turkish Food Recipes, why shouldn’t we have Fine Arts? - but I’m definitely not ready to discuss furniture, architecture and ceramics in Poetry and Literature forums!

i had heard that... one of the most wellknown critics of turkey says these after visiting a modern art gallery:

"now i understand why they have free entrance"

I think it would be great to have an "arts" section Niobe, just so long as we kept to Turkish Arts

The only attempts I can recall, to have a thread about turkish fine arts here in TC, were

Pictures of Istanbul
and
One face a thousand words

I'd love to see more...

Then he must have said such a thing out of ignorance! Istanbul is lucky to have such a wonderful museum of modern art and has some very talented up and coming young artists.

People always object to "modern" art (they said the same of Monet and Van Gogh and even of the Eiffel Tower!!) There will always people who want to see an almost photographic representation of a scene but its a very old fashioned idea dating back to pre-photographic eras. Modern art is the most expressive artform (in my opinion).

Maybe abstract expressionists like Jackson Pollock have put people off?
