As some of you may or may not know, soon 'Race For Life' 5 km 'fun runs' will take place in aid of Cancer Research UK. Only women can take part and its only 5km. I just wnated to raise awareness of this event because cancer affects many of us in various ways. It's a great way to show support and raise money for cancer research, which is vital in battling cancer and researching further into treatments and cures
I will be participating at my local Race For Life and I hope others will too

Yep I do that, but I did the 10K last October and doing another in May. It is a lot of fun the 5k races as they are women only!

It is a race, and will attract a strong field of sub 30 minuters! I was overtaken on my first lap by the winner finishing his second!
It is the GEAR in King's Lynn, Norfolk and places are filling fast. Great venue, through historic parts of the town, great atmosphere and more importantly a flat run!!

They have that as well here in the U.S. I highly recommend this race as it is a worthwhile cause. Most university campuses support it. On a personal note, my father, grandfather, cousin and aunt have all fought losing battles with this horrendous disease. More research must be done to not only destroy it but to find ways to prolong and improve the lives of those who suffer from it. I highly recommend yearly exams for women and men! Early detection is key to fighting a winning battle!
