Hi my love. We will do religious marriage and official (formal) marriage to get married, so you must say kelime-i sehadet (kelime-i şehadet: eşhedüenlailahe illallah, ve eşhedü enne muhammeden abdühü ve resulühü - this sentence is said to become a Muslim). Can you do this? After we get married, you will cook and i will wash the dishes.

Sorry to meddle here but in order to get married, it's not necessary to convert . An imam nikah (religious marriage) is also also not required (is it just me or is it illegal?)
Anyway, just thought you'd like to know.

Its not illegal to have an imam nikah in Turkey but a formal ceremony is also required in order for it to be valid
also the sentence to become Muslim shouldn't be said in vain. If you don't understand what it says or if you don't want to follow Islam then don't say it.

Ok thanks for clearing that up And my thoughts exactly, converting under false intentions would be somewhat blasphemic (from a religious person's viewpoint).
Anyway if you're going to get married you can comfort him with the fact that it's not a problem that you're not muslim. I went through that whole ordeal - the imam basically ran home to browse through his books and consult other imams on the matter, came back the next day and said it was ok. I did eventually end up converting anyway though.
