Adjectives and Adverbs

İn Turkish 'bir' (a, an) is written before noun.İn English a,an is written before qualification (beautiful, wooden, white etc) adjectives .
güzel yeşil bir köşk yeşil=green köşk=pavilion /kiosk
a beautiful green pavillion (kiosk)
tüm güzel sarı güller =all beautiful yellow roses. sarı=yellow gül=rose tüm=all

İn Turkish language adjectives are written before noun as in English language.
(O) güzel bir kız(dır) She is a beautiful girl.

İn Turkish language adverbs are written before verbs. İn English language, adverbs are written after verbs.
(Ben) Hızlı koşarım = İ run fast

To Turn Nouns into Adjectives
.
To turn nouns into pozitive adjectives we add li,lı,lu,lü suffixes to noun.
if the last vowel is
a,ı = lı
e,i = li
o,u = lu
ö,ü = lü
Noun Forms Adjective Form
güç=strength ...................... güçlü=strong
yaprak=leaf ...................... yapraklı =leafy
tuz=salt ...................... tuzlu=salty
ses=noise/voice/sound ...................... sesli=noisy
renk=colour ......................renkli=coloured
yatak=bed ...................... yataklı=furnished with a bed
şeker=sugar ...................... şekerli=sugary
yaş=age ...................... yaşlı=old

To turn nouns into negative adjectives we add siz,sız,suz,süz suffixes to noun.
if the last vowel is
a,ı = sız
e,i = siz
o,u = suz
ö,ü = süz

Noun Forms Adjective Form
güç=strength ...................... güçsüz=weak
yaprak=leaf ...................... yapraksız =without leaf
tuz=salt ...................... tuzsuz=unsalted
ses=noise/voice/sound ...................... sessiz=noisless /silent/voiceless/quiet
renk=colour ...................... renksiz=colourless
yatak=bed ...................... yataksız=without furnishing of bed
şeker=sugar ...................... şekersiz=unsugared

Comparing Adjectives and Adverbs
İn Turkish, comparing and superlative are written before adjective and adverb.

kadar= as.........as:
(Sen) Onun kadar uzunsun. = You are as tall as him. (adjective tall=uzun)

(Biz) Onlar kadar hızlı koşarız = We run as fast as them. (adverb fast=hızlı

den/dan/tan,ten Daha = More than /er than /ier than

İf the last vowel before den/dan/tan/ten is front vowel (e,i,ö,ü) it must be den or ten
İf the last vowel before den/dan/tan/ten is back vowel (a,ı,o,u) it must be dan or tan

if the last consonant before den/dan/tan/ten is sharp consonant (ç,f,t,h,s,k,p,ş it must be ten,tan
for others it must be den,dan

(Sen) Çiçeklerden daha güzelsin = You are more beautiful than flowers
(Sen) bu çiçekten daha güzelsin =You are more beautiful than this flower

Biz onlardan daha hızlı koşarız =We run faster than them.

En =The Most/ the...est/ the.... iest

(Sen) sınıfımızdaki en uzun kızsın.= You are the tallest girl in our class.
(Ben) Dünyadaki en yakışıklı erkeğim = İ am the most handsome man in the World.

yakışıklı=handsome
erkek=man it took -im suffix so k turned into ğ to pronounce it easier.

En hızlı ben koşarım = İ run fastest

İn Turkish, to emphasize a word, we bring it before verb. so here ''ben'' came before verb to emphasize ''ben''

İ am Turk.İ wrote them in rtf file. İ have prepared them on my mind and i am sending them to Turkish learners on my msn.To help lots of Turkish learners i copied and pasted them to this forum.Actually rtf files are better because i made them coloured.So it is more understandible
