Hmmm...I'll give this a try.

1. The educated sensitive modern thinkers who value their cultural roots, but adapt them to acknowledge the equalities of others.

2. All the rest!

Ok - I'll have another go.

1. The, sensitive modern thinkers who value their cultural roots but adapt them to acknowledge the equalities of others BUT are also sometimes confused by the challenges the rest of the world makes upon their traditional values. But can think in a wider way (I'm keeping my language unsophisticated for the benefit of those English speakers who are not as linguistically competent as you Alpha)and question those values and cultural norms.

and

2. Those who are so stuck in the way they have been raised, that they cannot widen them minds to accept even the possibility that there is a different way of looking at things but are nevertheless able to SAY things are different to how they really feel because they can recognise that it is sometimes expected of them.

Mental gymnastics. I have noted that you did say 'generally' there are two types of turkish men, because we don't want to get involved in the various sub levels of the two main categories! phewwww. there I go using unsophisticated language again heheh

Introduction of the two categories into Turkish sociology was by a Lady friend of mine. Hence, I may be considered as deeply involved in the issue.

I think you are from my own first category!
So I was wrong again?

My dear Lady friend put it down to me as " There are two categories of Turkish men, my friend: You and others"...

I have not been able to act modest afterwards.
